On our third kill, we got the off hand

On our forth kill, we got the main hand

Nihilum, the guild that has been farming Illidan the longest and have the worlds first kill doesn't have a single one while we're sporting a 50% drop rate. That's some insane luck there and shows that there's something hugely wrong with the current Legendary system WoW has. But, that's not our fault, and neither is it the recipient's - Kuai. So it is with huge glee I announce to you all that Azshara's most popular figure now has the greatest set of items currently in the game to troll you all with in trade for the next few weeks before we transfer.

Enjoy it - you'll miss it when it's gone

Black Temple

In this update, we show what to aspire to be if your goal is to become the worst guild in the world at taking group screenshots

My irrelevant prophecy that we would kill Illidan before any other guild on Azshara had even stepped foot in Black Temple didn't quite come to fruition, though we did down him before anyone else had killed the zone's first boss, High Warlord Naj'entus.

In all honesty, this fight isn't that hard. With the exception of phase two, Illidan's concepts are those we've done many, many times over the months we spent trudging through Serpentshrine Cavern, Tempest Keep and Hyjal to get here. The Warlock tanking is Leotheras of a different element, the spreading out for Flame Burst is nothing more than that used throughout the afforementioned Naj'entus and, hell, the parasites are nothing more than a concept born in good ol' Arcatraz. That's not to detract from the fight mind you; this is the most fun fight since Kael'thas wasn't ripping us apart and a very fitting end to the current tier.

Not moving out of Eye Beam, walking in to Eye Beams, Mage's allowing themself to be overrun by parasites as melee attacked them, me not Shield Blocking Sheer, one of our tank's taking four hours to "get" phase two tanking, healers sucking at healing Barrage fast enough, standing next to the tanking Warlock during Demon phase, spreading out too wide while waiting for Shadow Demons - there are some of the personal issues we had to overcome to get him down. Impressive, no? We're good.

Our first kill was impressive. And by impressive, I mean sad. As seems customary amongst guilds during their first Illidan kill, we got completely overwhelmed by parasites and wiped as the raid squeezed the last 3% out of him after I had died. All attempts at Illidan have convinced me that Maiev is a dumb bitch and not worth worriyng about. On our first kill, she dropped her trap half way inside a wall and, while trying to manouver Illidan into it, he ran around it and Flame Crashed me as my camera jammed in the wall causing me to lose my composure, take a sheer and die. On our second kill, she dropped it half way inside the back wall and putting more effort in to trying to get him in it rather than keeping myself up during the enrage almost killed me. He did end up in it though and died after going through the pointless motions of switching through phases at 1 HP.

I'm proud of the guild I now lead and am glad we managed to get him down on Azshara before we switch servers on November 9. This also means a new dawn on three day raiding and more time to enjoy arena, PvP, alts and other games we're inclined to neglect. Maybe we'll even spend some of that time running Tempest Keep and selling the loot we have no real need for anymore. And speaking of selling loot, if anyone on Azshara is interested in epic gems or Hearts of Darkness, contact me.

A passing mention to those bosses we never spoke about (read: Russta was too busy/lazy to type about)

Gurtogg Bloodboil

After the past week of farming, stability and attuning five new people, we were ready to step up and tackle our next boss in Black Temple last night, Gurtogg Bloodboil. Once Teron was down, we actually managed a pull on him as the last thing we did on Monday night, purely for fun. Well that was final outcome as I wanted to learn his trash while farming overpowered epics, overpowered gems and desperately building up our comparitively meagre supply of Heart of Darkness'.

The fight wasn't really that bad. Three groups of five had to rotate in and out of a ditch every ten seconds, three tanks need to manage their hate perfectly and one person needs to know how to survive for thirty seconds while being cure bombed. It's pretty straight forward but requires the entire raid to play perfectly and skullfuck Omen. On that front, I felt pretty bad for Tsu as he slowly slid up in threat while essentially doing nothing. Oh well, our piece of shit server gets Subtlety soon!

Garments of Temperance - Setsuko
Messenger of Fate - Sanou

The Battle of Mount Hyjal

Lets Give Archimonde the Following Abilities...(500mb, download it, trust me)

Well, this is my first update and I'm pretty damn terrified of messing something up. I've never used Dreamweaver in my life and once I actually managed to get up to this point my eyes refused to bail my brain out. I'm used to dealing with code about as complex as posting a picture and centralizing it so this is truly daunting. My methods will be copy and pasting, hardcore editing and some sketchy shortcuts to help keep the masses happy all the while hoping nothing breaks. Really, until I get comfortable, the thought of doing this regularly is pretty horrible but it's not something I want to inflict upon anyone I was even sure could handle it. I don't mean to sound negative at all as I'm sure I'll end up enjoying updating this as much as I do on my own personal blog (God I hate that word). I guess writing two updates at every stage of progression from two different perspectives could be sorta fun too so there's hope yet!

Archimonde was a nightmare. It's one of those fights where a lot of control is taken out of your hands and dying to bad luck is a very real possibility. However, picking apart the wipes and figuring out which was bad luck and which was something completely idiotic (like cratering...) turned out to be pretty difficult as people don't like to own up to their mistakes for fear of being shouted at in a loud British accent. After some small but important changes to the raid positioning and 94 Purification Potions had been distributed out evenly amongst the raid by Setsuko and I, he soon fell. It was an extremely satisfying kill and the first to really put up any sort of resistance to being steamrolled since we killed Kael'thas.

Hood of the Malefic - Zeroo
Lightbringer Greathelm - Scunsion
Cowl of Absolution - Setsuko
Thunderheart Cover - Zylch (fuck your 2pc buddy)
Cataclysm's Edge - Tickler
Antonidas's Aegis of Rapt Concentration - Arv
Robes of Rhonin - Bluetonberry
Savoir's Grasp - Ranan

On the March

Take a look at this mspaint graff of new bosses killed per week.

Progression took off again after we killed Kael'thas and Rage Winterchill, and as you can see, we are now officially off the chart at five (5) new bosses killed this week. We had great fun clearing BT to Teron Gorefiend and killing him on our second night of attempts. And while we were there Akama killed himself, and we helped.

By the time we remembered to take the screenshot, the envoy from <Bom Chicka Wah Wah> had already left, but our compatriots from <BangBros> were still there. After our fun romp in Black Temple we headed to Hyjal. I'm amazed at how Blizzard picked out the one thing about raid instances that everyone enjoys -- the trash -- and made an entire instance out of it. Hats off to them! We killed Anetheron but someone immediately started the Kaz'rogal encounter so we were overrun with trash before we could screenshot the corpse. Instead, here is an artist's rendering of what our screenshot would have looked like had we actually taken one.

I hope you didn't just read that post, because text and graphics are for suckers!
Please enjoy the following two-and-a-half-minute video which details our exploits over the past 2 days.

Supremus

Due to Bert's recent decline in front page update quality, he's been cut from the team and will be replaced by a host of guest updaters. Now, I should first mention that we managed to kill Kael'thas again in one night, which is an achievement in and of itself considering how we were recently shaken to our very core by the fight. Stability is nice.

Killing Kael and Rage again gave us a full raid of folks attuned for Black Temple. We spent a couple of nights in the Karabor Sewers farming trash and getting a feel for the High Warlord Naj'entus encounter, and after one night of very close wipes, we came back tonight for another go. Though healing-intensive, the fight is altogether simple, and can be easily conquered by the buddy system and effective communication, such as a code word to prevent misfired spines.

Our loot was The Maelstrom's Fury, which went to a gent named Kiel, and Ring of Captured Storms, which went to a Raven-Symoné enthusiast by the name of Darm. After wiping to the next pack of 8 slimes for half an hour, we ventured up to the courtyard and systematically eliminated the swarm of buggy trash.

After 30 minutes, naught but the looming figure of the mighty Supremus remained before us. Not since Grobbulus has Blizzard designed a more enjoyable encounter, and we sincerely applaud them for it. We wiped once (or maybe twice, who's counting) due to offtanks standing in fire, then we gathered our wits and went back in a second (or third, who's counting) time for the kill. At 80%, half our raid was dead, but still we pressed on. Around 20%, Zylch the Bear got dropped by a Hateful/Hurtful/Not-so-nice Strike to the noggin, but luckily all the Paladins miraculously survived to continue healing. The warlocks, the shadowpriests, and myself continued to whittle Supremus down, aided by Archan and his mighty Hammer of Wrath. Despite Tsu pulling hate at 1% and killing half the people still standing, we managed to put this one away after only 45 minutes of combat.

I think everyone would agree that easy fights are a fun break. The pauldrons went to Bert, and the Mogambinator took the mace. After rezzing 20 or so people, we went into the temple proper to see what we had to look forward to.

Really though, I personally don't mind the trash much, not only because it's well-designed yet not too hard, but just because it allows me to inch forward and see more of the level design. Black Temple is a beautiful zone, and having been able to see the roughed out version in the TBC Beta client, I'm awed at the amount of detail Blizzard's artists have put into it since then. It's a breathtaking zone, in terms of both art and gameplay, and we look forward to making more progress in it in the very near future.

Hyjal sucks.

Start the movie download before you begin to read!

Hi.

I went to the tavern of the rising sun for a month, but lo and behold have returned. The drinks must have had something in them, because I feel totally different, but in spite of that difference here I am. And here he lies. Rather here lies a sad sign of my lack of a program that can save pretty graphics despite YEARS of begging, because a change in complaints from "your graphic quality blows" to "you have broken links" is long overdue.

FIXED

kael

Of course the missing ingredient was simply myself and all I had to do was come back and he magically fell over with no work whatsoever. Joke, because we have a new badass and able-bodied leader, but I helped!

Destroyer Breastplate - Tickler
Robe of the Corruptor - Zeroo
The Sun King's Talisman - Bus
Royal Gauntlets of Silvermoon - Berticusrex
Sunhawk Leggings - Arvin the Gay

Now that I've shed the responsibility of leading raids, I hope to do the same with the website. For you dedicated 6 out-of-guild readers THIS COULD BE THE END OF MY ROAD! But for now...
