Nightbane Dropped, Karazhan Cleared, something first - 02/14/07 - 11:30 PM - Bert
 

Nightbane was the first truly difficult fight of Karazhan, on the same level as the truly difficult stuff in past raids. Some of the solutions to the encounter are quite goofy, but altogether it's an incredible toughy on so many fronts. Anyway, we finally pulled it together tonight and bopped him over the head, with our weapons and spells.

And we're nothing but glad to be done learning this fight. It took a lot of antisexual (?????????????????????????????????????????????///??///cool&funny&jealous) dedication.



We got Romeo & Juliet this week; Arv responds in a manner that would impress Shakespeare himself.



And after all the attempts and breakthroughs we thought we had, but really didn't, I completely lost it.

I call these types of encounters where everyone has to respond to a set of adds pretty much instantly "football plays." Moroes is another good example of one. And hey, what sort of internet tough guy would I be without somehow tying it into football?

We're on Nightbane. As you can see our first night of attempts was completely ruined by the bugged Master's Terrace Event, courtesy of Ranan.

And then back to Karazhan, both of these wonderful kills were recorded last Monday. Really fun encounters. I liked most how we all braced for Malchezaar's 60% weapon brandish and the tanking in that part didn't really ever cause any problems. I disliked most how Arv delayed our Netherspite kill by hours and hours on end including an extra set of trash repops through which to clear. Wait, this pattern is getting really familiar :( Loot's getting really nice too, including a Shaman awarded Gorehowl. Grats to Fira on that one!

A Little More Progress - 02/05/07 - 3:13 PM - Bert
 

In a really malicious destructive and anti progression oriented move, I went to the Bahamas all week. But we still got some done. Biggest was Shade of Aran (better representation, by Foof), who we had a hard time learning last week because Arv kept going afk and trash kept respawning. Trash respawn times are really tight everywhere and demand quick recovery and efficient learning along with serious, quick, clearing.

We also had a different opera encounter this time. It was much less straightforward and took a few more wipes than Wolf to get down without a lock, but went down quite easily in the end. Jason got Ruby Slippers, the ones that hearth you.



My favorite room in the instance; they should put something like this on the next release of Brain Age.
